Tweed + Cape

Woke up this morning to be greeted with an almighty hangover after an evening drinking copious amounts of wine with the girls. I don't think I can handle more than a couple of glasses any more! A sign of my age! So not feeling 100% myself but still managed to cobble up some kind of outfit. Comfort comes first today and these tweed shorts of mine are SUPER comfy! I found them when I was moving house and I hadn't worn them for ages. It was a nice surprise. Don't you just love it when that happens? This is why I never throw anything out, you never know when you may want to wear something again. Teemed it with my grey jumper which I think is THE most worn item in my wardrobe. I love it! My cape is from French Connection and is great on these chilly days. I love the cute pom poms hanging on it.

This week was also St Dwynwen's day. Dwynwen is the Welsh patron St of love, and it is basically Wales' answer to valentines day. This prompted me to bake some cute pink cupcakes using my trusted Hummingbird bakery recipe. I think they turned out quite well. What do you think?

I tawt I taw a puddy tat...

Introducing my beautiful cat Rwdlan. Named after a character from a welsh children's book, she is what makes my home, home. She's a little madam and definitely lives a life of luxury (we spoil her rotton). Home for me is most definitely where the cat is :)

Trousers?

I bought these camel trousers from Topshop whilst in Manchester at the weekend. I'm normally a skirt, dress or shorts girl as I carry most of my weight around my hips and so those styles are the most flattering. I struggle to find trousers that 1. fit and 2. don't make me look about 20 stone!! But these ones seem to look OK-ish! What do you all think? I also bought a khaki pair very similar from River Island. I will try to post a picture of them soon.

Manchester was absolutely FAB at the weekend. It was so nice to be with all of my university friends again. Its so strange to think we spent three years of our lives living together and now we all live so far apart. But It's great that we make an effort to meet up on a fairly regular basis and I know they will be friends for life :)
Here are a few photos from our night out. Champagne cocktails were the drink du jour!

Until next time...

God bless Kurt Geiger!

I have been searching for a pair of shoes for my Aunty's wedding in May. I already have the PERFECT dress from Reiss. It's royal blue and very structured, but also very classic. Was I inspired by Kate Middleton? Nah! Well, OK maybe a little! But tell me, who wouldn't die for a glossy mane like hers, great style AND a royal fiance?! Gimme some of that please! Anyway, I digress.... the shoes! Well I didn't want to be too matchy matchy and so a blue pair was out of the question (even though I did spy a beaut of a pair in John Lewis) and black is well, black. So in my head I had pictured the dress with a great pair of nude heels, wooden heel preferably and a killer platform. I thought it was going to be impossible to find this shoe of my dreams. Quite the opposite however, as Kurt Geiger in Liverpool came up trumps on the shoe front. After trying on 16 pairs of shoes (yes 16!!) I managed to narrow it down to the following two pairs, both of which I purchased:

But which ones to keep???
Maybe I should just keep both :)

Bow tie?

I've been looking for a cute little bow tie necklace for ages and found the lovliest one on the Urban Outfitters website. So here is a little dreamed up outfit of what I would wear with it.
